This is the first time I have realized this was a thing. No, not that...it's a day. A holiday. Ok, so it's one one of those other holidays.
I love those. Those quirky ones that they highlight on radio stations sometimes.
Although today's calendar event is a little stress-inducing.
Tick Tock Day. Reminding us to complete any unfinished business that might need addressing before the end of the year.
Yikes. Now I find myself looking around and thinking yes, there are 187 things I need to do in the next 3 days. Thanks for reminding me.
I am doing laundry and -after the third attempt- trying to drink my first cup of coffee while doing my impersonation of a whirling dervish...before I remember my plan for 2023.
Just stop trying to do everything "right now." Doing all the things is something I have tried to do for as long as I can remember. I made steps to stop this behavior in 2023.
The only resolutions I made in 2023 were to be gentle on myself and recognize that even small victories are victories. What gets done gets done.
This is a chill week. The quiet part of the vacation. After the Christmas hullabaloo, before the return to school and resuming the daily have-to-do's.
Instead of reheating my coffee, I'll just pour a new, fresh cup and enjoy the quiet for a little bit longer. Maybe choose a less stress-y event of the day.
Like National Ha Day! (encourage silliness and laughter, spend the day on joy and humor)
